Jedd Fisch's relationship with his offensive coordinator Jimmie Dougherty stretches back to at least 2016 when both of them were on staff together at Michigan.
While Fish was the Wolverines quarterbacks and receivers coach and pass game coordinator, Dougherty served as his offensive analyst.
When Fisch left for the opportunity to become UCLA's offensive coordinator in 2017, Dougherty followed to become the receivers coach for the Bruins.
While Fisch spent a few seasosn in the NFL with the Rams and then Patriots, Dougherty stayed in college football at UCLA.
The two reunited when Fisch became the head coach at Arizona in 2021, Dougherty Γ§ame on board as pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach and was one of the first to follow Fisch to Washington in the same capacity.
Prior to the 2025 season, Dougherty was elevated to offensive coordinator while he continued to coach the quarterbacks.
But according to a recent report from CBS Sports, Dougherty won't be back for a second season in that role.
CBS Sports shares "the current expectation" is that Dougherty and the school are going to part ways.
The move comes after an up-and-down 9-win season for the program. While they were dominant on the offensive side of the ball at times - scoring 70 against a top 10 FCS program in UC Davis week two followed by a 59-point outburst against Washington State the next week - they struggled on offense against the Big Ten's elite programs.
Washington scored just 6 points in a September 27th loss to top-ranked Ohio State, whose defense stifled just about everyone in the country until the College Football Playoff came around, and managed just a touchdown on the road at Michigan in a 24-7 loss a few weeks later in mid-October.
Ranked among the country's top 25 for the first time sitting at 6-2, the Huskies dropped a 13-10 decision on the road in Madison to Wisconsin in early November, and then lost their rivalry game at home against #6 Oregon in their regular season finale 26-14.
When the offense was clicking, they were tough to beat, scoring at least 35 in their Big Ten wins over Rutgers, #23 ranked Illinois, and Purdue - all at home at Husky Stadium, as well as on the road in a 48-14 romp of USC late in the year. The finished the season ranked 17th nationally in scoring despite those previously mentioned struggles against the league's top programs and Wisconsin.
